COVID Policy

 COVID Policy

At SMIRC we understand the risks associated with COVID19 and holding events during these trying time.  To that end we have secured 5,200 sq feet of space while deciding to limit our attendance to 80 people.  This will allow for 12' between couples and keeps attendance at under 25% of our capacity limit.


We also have several policies and rules in place.

  1. Those attending will have there temperature taken upon entrance with a touchless thermometer.  If you have a temp over 100.4 please stay home and get in touch with us and we can give you a refund rather than risk getting everyone sick.

  2. SMIRC will conduct itself in accordance with the MI State Guidelines for exercise, fitness and sport facilities and has chosen to cap our capacity to allow for at least 12' between all participants.

  3. Masks will be required.

  4. Social distancing from others in attendance will be required. 




The State of MI is loosening its COVID restrictions on gatherings effective Friday March 5th, 2021, including rules governing gyms and workout facilities (the closest category for what we are doing).


In response to this loosening of regulations SMIRC has decided not to change anything regarding our attendance limits and capacity.


We already were in compliance with the COVID rules in the State of Michigan and now we are content to go ahead and do even better than the rules as bigger is not always better and we'd rather have a smaller, quality, super safe event than go bigger just to go bigger.


While we are delighted at the prospect of COVID being in our rear view mirror and heartened by the likely hood that our event will be able to happen without a pandemic hanging over our heads we'd just assume go ahead and keep our event as it is and perhaps in 2022 expand to even more presenters and space and attendees.
